Master Classes
Sports Clinics

The best athletes are often not the best of instructors in their chosen sport, but their presence at camps and clinics and special classes helps inspire both teachers and pupils. Whatever your game, a master class can probably improve your score and enhance your enjoyment.

Sun Valley, in addition to being a winter ski resort, operates a world-class skating center during the summer months. Olympic skaters like Katarina Witt, Scott Hamilton, Debbie Thomas, Brian Orser and Linda Fratianne perform in popular weekend ice shows and sometimes offer workshops and private instruction during their residencies. Both indoor and outdoor ice rinks are available next to the grand old Sun Valley Lodge. For information, contact: Sun Valley Skating Center, P.O. Box 888, Sun Valley, ID 83353; (208) 622-3888.

Newcombe doesn't do much of the teaching, but his expert staff of instructors lead challenging clinics on backhands, groundstrokes, volleys and serves for all levels of players.
