crying out loud

For crying out loud! Economic stimulus by the federal government at this time is absolutely essential.

You may argue the finer points of where and how a stimulus should be applied, but the fact of the matter is that no other entity has the wherewithal to jump-start a stalled global economy and no corporation or private group is going to risk its assets “for the greater good” without guarantee of success.

Without the stimulus, the economy will continue to spiral downward as corporations and individuals hoard their assets, leaving the most vulnerable in our society in perilous shape.

Even if parts of the stimulus package fund seemingly trivial or pork barrel projects, the jobs created and the moneys expended will move capital and lift spirits and generate activity that could very well lead to the kind of Obama-Boom that we desperately need.

Opposition to the stimulus, in my mind, is a form of mean-spirited hoarding that seeks to profit from the misfortune of others.
